Doosan Bears is the first Korean professional baseball team founded in 1982 when the Professional Baseball League was launched for the first time in Korea. The team is symbolized by Korean black bear based on the story of a bear in the Dangun Myth.

Doosan Bears is remembered as the first championship team of the Korean Series in 1982, the first year of Korean Professional Baseball League, touching off a baseball boom. Since then, it has earned fame as a team of perseverance and endurance and repeated the glory of championship in 1995.

In 2002, Bears advanced to the post season as the third place team in the regular season and won the championship cup for the third time, displaying the most exciting games through the semi-playoff, the playoff and the Korean Series
